“Results Day holds a special place in my heart. It’s a story set in Handsworth, Birmingham. The same neighbourhood in which I was born and raised. In the same park my parents once taught me to ride a bike. ​ This is a neighbourhood with a certain reputation and a proud history. A neighbourhood which rarely features on screen and when they do, they have not portrayed us kindly. Results Day seeks to correct that. ​ While it’s set in a very specific place, this coming of age story is about one of the most universally relatable experiences - opening exam results -  the dread and anxiety that precedes and the seeming life changing consequences that follow.”
